Susie and Dale Boone
Kalamazoo Diocese Co-Chair Couple
Hello, we are Susie and Dale Boone and we are BIG listeners of Holy Family Radio. Dale and I have two sons; Jacob (23) and Preston (19). Jacob is a recent graduate of University of Dayton (go Flyers) and Preston studies at Saginaw Valley State University (go Frankenmuth and delicious sausage). We have driven many miles for church, jobs, school, sports and more school. We were beyond excited to have Holy Family Radio air in Kalamazoo!
Years ago we were asked to lead the youth ministry team at St. Ann in Augusta. That invitation led us to a new world of learning and living our faith. Dale and I are grateful for the Catholic Church and really believe “you are what you fill your mind with”. Listening to Catholic radio on our long commutes has been such a blessing. Listening and pondering the topics at the beginning of our day and then on the ride home really gives us peace and time to learn about Catholicism. Many great conversations in our family began with “I heard on the radio….”
Fill your mind with things of Christ! Holy Family Radio is that presence. Listening and supporting Catholic radio is the opportunity to grow His kingdom.
Steve and Pam Strobel
Grand Rapids Diocese Co-Chair Couple
Hello, we are Steve and Pam Strobel, and we are grateful to God for the gift of Catholic radio, especially Holy Family Radio right here in West Michigan! When we were married in 1988, our Catholic faith was central to our mission and vocation as a married couple, however we were limited in our ability to access the greater Catholic community throughout the world. We sought inspiration and holiness at a local level within the Grand Rapids diocese and willingly spent our free time in serving St. Thomas the Apostle, our parish community, and the Aquinas College community, where Pam worked at the time. As our family grew to seven children (now ages 25 to 11) living out our Catholic faith in word and deed became even more significant. We sought spiritual mentors to deepen our prayer life. We were avid listeners of the local Christian radio station, seeking guidance for how to walk more closely with the Lord, but when Holy Family Radio began broadcasting in 2010, we found a new radio home and were exposed to a much greater wealth of knowledge of our Catholic Faith.
Catholic Radio, especially Holy Family Radio, has been an excellent resource for us in our daily lives. We are encouraged, inspired and equipped with the needed tools to become better spouses, friends, parents, co-workers, directors and servants. Whether listening to Brian Patrick on Morning Glory, Teresa Tomeo with Catholic Connection, Fr. John Richardo, Dr. David Anders with Called to Communion, or Al Kresta and more, we are truly inspired by the wide variety of Catholic programming which affords us the ability to share the Truth and Knowledge of the Catholic Faith to those we meet both in word and action. Thank you Holy Family Radio for being a light in the darkness, and we especially want to thank Mother Angelica for following the will of God which has now blessed so many of us!
When not serving our family and parish community, Steve works as an Information Technology Manager at Steelcase, and Pam homeschools our children. As a couple, we especially enjoy serving as the Directors of Vacation Bible School at St. Thomas and serving as Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound. We have been active in the greater Grand Rapids Catholic homeschooling community for many years where Pam currently serves as the Director of the L.I.F.E. Catholic Homeschool Cooperative located at St. Isidore Parish.
